To suggest that Lucas Radebe remains a popular figure with the Leeds United supporters would be a slight understatement.

Radebe started his professional career with Kaizer Chiefs, and made over 100 league appearances for the South African club before joining Leeds in 1994.

The former centre-back made 256 appearances during his time at Elland Road, and was a part of the team that famously reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Once linked with Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson was believed to be a huge fan of Radebe, who must go down as one of Leeds’ best-ever signings.

Radebe actually played as a midfielder during the early stages of his career, but developed into a brilliant centre-back before hanging up his boots in 2005.

Leeds supporters absolutely love Radebe, and many have been on social media lavishing praise on the 49-year-old following his recent Twitter post.
