Emmanuel Adebayor will return to Manchester City training this week, as Tottenham are yet to wrap up the finer details of a permanent deal for the striker, The Sun report.

The Togolese frontman is surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium, and spent last term on loan at White Hart Lane, scoring 18 times for the north London club.

Spurs are eager to make the African’s time at the club permanent, but the financial terms of the deal are holding up a conclusion.

Adebayor has agreed to take a pay cut to fit into Spurs’ wage structure, however Roberto Mancini’s men are now squabbling over the prospective transfer fee.

It was believed that a bid of £5 million would be sufficient to complete the transfer, but the Premier League champions have now stated that they will not accept anything less than £6 million for their outcast.
